Jameslee Silverayees: My Journey in Parenting Advocacy
I’m Jameslee Silverayees, the founder of Makes Parenting Watch. Creating this platform has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life, driven by my passion to support and empower parents.
My goal is simple: to provide a trusted and accessible space where caregivers can find the latest parenting news, expert advice, and practical tips to make raising children just a little bit easier.
My Early Life and Inspiration
I grew up in Saint Louis, Missouri, in a tight-knit family as the eldest of four siblings. From a young age, I found myself stepping into a caregiving role, helping my parents manage the household and look after my younger brothers and sisters.
These early experiences gave me a firsthand look at the challenges and joys of family life, and they planted the seeds of my passion for child care and parental guidance.
The idea for Makes Parenting Watch came to me as I watched new parents in my family and community struggle to find reliable, practical information. I saw them overwhelmed by the sheer volume of advice out there—much of it outdated or conflicting.
I knew there had to be a better way to support parents, a way to provide clear, evidence-based guidance tailored to the realities of modern parenting. That’s when I decided to create a dedicated platform that offers exactly that.
Professional Background and Expertise
I have a background in journalism and digital media, with a degree in Communications from the University of Missouri. Throughout my career,
I’ve worked as a writer and editor for various family and lifestyle publications, where I developed a deep understanding of what parents need most—accurate, relatable, and actionable content. My work has always been driven by a desire to make complex topics more accessible, blending professional insights with personal experiences.
Before founding Makes Parenting Watch, I worked in editorial roles focused on family health, child development, and parenting strategies.
These roles shaped my vision for a platform that would be both informative and empathetic, addressing parents’ needs with a blend of expert advice and community-driven support.
Community Engagement and Advocacy
Outside of Makes Parenting Watch, I stay actively involved in the community, speaking at parenting workshops, community centers, and online forums. I love engaging directly with parents, whether through Q&A sessions on the website or at local events.
Mental health is a cause close to my heart, and I often advocate for the importance of self-care and wellness in the parenting journey.
For me, the most rewarding aspect of this work is connecting with parents and hearing their stories. I strive to make Makes Parenting Watch a platform that listens and evolves based on the feedback of its community. Every parent’s voice matters, and I am committed to making sure those voices are heard.
My Personal Life
At home in Saint Louis, I’m a husband, father of two, and a dog dad to our lovable family pet. When I’m not working, you’ll often find me exploring local parks with my kids, experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen, or snapping photos of our latest family adventures.
Being a parent myself constantly inspires the content I create and reinforces my belief that while parenting is incredibly challenging, it’s also the most rewarding journey we can embark on.
Looking Ahead
I envision Makes Parenting Watch continuing to grow, reaching more parents and making a positive impact in their lives. I’m dedicated to ensuring that the platform remains a trusted companion, helping families navigate the ups and downs of parenting with confidence and compassion. Thank you for being part of this journey with me—I’m excited for what’s ahead.
